Satan loves to keep us running in circles trying to beat the clock. If he can distract us, he can minimize our usefulness to God. As Christians, we need to work on not allowing ourselves to be swept away in the undercurrent of the busyness of Life.
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone,
Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
