I have been shopping at Aldi for some time now, but I did not always do it the way I shop their now. I would just buy a few items here and their that I thought we liked and only would spend $50 or less. Well, I have changed my ways after reading and listening to a blog that has some awesome content regarding Aldi. Check out The Humbled Homemaker for more Aldi Tips!
Chips and Pretzels – I love to buy these items, as they are very cost effective. Most of these items are just around $1 or so. Sometimes, they do have a sale and I stock up by buying 2-3 bags. An example just recently they had a Super Bowl Sale and was able to get their tortillas for $.99 per bag, so I bought 3 of them.
Breakfast foods – We buy several different items in this category. They have great deals on cereal, oatmeal, breakfast bars, and occasionally we will buy their chocolate and powdered doughnuts. They are absolutely yummy!
Condiments – There are some condiments I do buy. I have bought in the past ketchup, mustard, salad dressing, and BBQ Sauce.
Dairy – We just love their dairy items. Lately, I have been able to get a gallon of milk for $1.69. There shredded cheeses are also at a good price and is in a higher quantity than other stores. We also buy butter, cream cheese, french onion dip, and other variation of cheeses.
Juices – We have a couple different juices we do buy on a consistent basis. There prices are very reasonable. Items we buy most is their Orange Juice and Apple Juice.
Baking Products – I always buy my baking products from Aldi. At Christmas, when you are buying to make recipes are the best prices around. Some of the things I buy are sugar, flour, baking soda, baking chocolate, chocolate chips.
Canned Foods – They have awesome prices on their canned vegetables. My favorite items of these to buy is green beans, corn, cream soups, refried beans, tuna and salmon.
Produce – Aldi has great prices on their produce. I am very picky about produce. Sometimes, they just do not have the kind of produce I like or they just are not as good. Most of the time I do buy produce here though. Items I will buy here are lettuce, potatoes, celery, bell peppers, onions, bananas, blueberries, and sometimes watermelon and cantaloupe.
Frozen Foods – We buy quite a bit of their frozen food. It is very reasonable in price. One of our favorites is their pizzas! We also buy buffalo chicken, pizza bagels, chicken strips.
Meats – We just started buying more meats at Aldi as the prices are just more reasonable. The chicken salad is really awesome and is my daughter’s favorite thing. We buy their lunchmeat, frozen hamburger patties, and they also sell ground chicken which is an alternative to buying beef, but can be used in the same recipes.
If you have never shopped at Aldi before and you are little concerned about food quality they do have a money back guarantee. I am sure if you try them you will like Aldi. You just have to try different products and find your favorite items. It is really a win-win when it comes to saving money.
Aldi is one of the best stores to help save some money on your grocery budget. Most Aldi stores are smaller and have fewer choices where you can be in and out a lot quicker than a regular store. They also have some special buys on non-grocery items that have a fabulous price. When shopping at Aldi, you can stop spending all of your time clipping coupons to try to save. I always go to Aldi first before going to any other stores.
