Our family just got back from our week long vacation. We took 3 teenagers, 2 girls and 1 boy. They seemed to enjoy themselves the entire time. We visited Holiday World, Splashin’ Safari, ate out, camped in an RV, and grilled out Hamburgers. The kids loved Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari and since we haven’t been there since they were little, we would try it again. This Amusement Park is for all ages of kids, teens, and adults.
My daughter really loved this trip, as she always says she is bored. I do not think she ever said she was bored even one time on this trip. There was plenty of activities at Holiday World to keep us all busy. We went to the water-park during the day hours from about 11:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time, then after that we headed to the regular park to ride regular rides, eat, and shop. Some of the perks for this amusement park is that there are free drinks, free sunscreen, and free wifi. That is a benefit in itself. If you decide you want to go for more than 1 day you can get a discount for $30 per ticket for the 2nd day.
This is one of my favorite amusement parks because in the actual park they are sectioned off by different holidays. They include Christmas (which is really for the younger kids), 4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving. There is quite a few selections of food to choose from, but it is all very good.
O’Bannon Woods State Park
We stayed the remainder of our vacation at O’Bannon Woods State Park. The park was pretty empty during the week. They are alot busier on the weekends. We stayed in an RV and just enjoyed the park. Some of the activities our teens enjoyed was walking some trails, swimming in the pool which had 2 slides, a pioneer village, a cave tour, and just hanging out in our RV to have some relaxation time.
We ate at an awesome restuarant called The Overlook. The reason of its name is you can see the Ohio River from there. They have chicken, steak, and fish plus much more. It is located near Corydon, Indiana. Here is a picture of our family near the restaurant with our Indiana shirts on.
Here is a picture at the entrance of the cave that my husband and the Teenagers went on.
Here are some of the photos from the pioneer village and nature center!
Have you visited Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari? Have you visited O’Bannon Woods State Park in Corydon, Indiana? What were your favorite things to do at either of these attractions?
